These Terms govern use of the StartMyOwn services — the startmyown family of websites, hosted business sites, phone and messaging services, AI-assisted communication, scheduling, payments, and marketing tools (the "Services"). By creating an account or using the Services you agree to these Terms.
StartMyOwn provides tools that help independent professionals ("Businesses") start and run their business: an AI-built website, a dedicated phone line, an AI assistant that responds to customer communications, booking and ordering, payment processing, and marketing features. AI-generated content and responses may contain errors; Businesses are responsible for reviewing their website content and the policies they configure.
You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract.
Paid plans are billed monthly in advance ($29–$79 per month depending on plan) after any free trial. Consumer payments processed through the Services incur payment-processing fees and a platform fee, disclosed at setup. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change pricing with at least 30 days' notice.
Payment processing is provided by Stripe and subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. Businesses are responsible for delivering the goods and services their customers pay for, and for their own refund and cancellation policies (including deposit and no-show policies they configure).
The Services send text messages on a Business's behalf. Businesses must only message customers who have provided their number in the course of doing business with them, must honor opt-outs (which the platform enforces automatically), and must comply with applicable law, including the TCPA. We may suspend messaging that risks our carrier relationships.
You may not use the Services for anything unlawful, deceptive, or harmful; for prohibited business categories (including adult content, illegal substances, and weapons); to send spam; or to infringe others' rights. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, create fraud or chargeback risk, or harm the platform.
Businesses retain ownership of the content they provide and grant us a license to host and display it to provide the Services. We retain ownership of the platform, and Businesses may use AI-generated site content and logos as part of their business.
You may cancel at any time; access continues through the end of the billing period. Upon termination we may release the business phone number and unpublish hosted sites after a reasonable wind-down period.
The Services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of the Services is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for the acts of Businesses toward their customers.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA. We may update these Terms; continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
